| Tumultuous week for electrified cars | How about this for a roller coaster? On Monday, Tesla cancels its lowest-priced, 40-kilowatt-hour Model S, then on Tuesday comes out with a new financial plan for potential buyers, guaranteeing a resale value equivalent to that of a Mercedes-Benz S-class. On Wednesday, startup Detroit Electric unveiled its pricey electric roadster, the SP:01. Thursday saw the announcement by Porsche that it would turn its Panamera Hybrid into a plug-in hybrid for the 2014 model year. And we end with a whimper on Friday, as Fisker lays off the majority of its workforce, signaling the end of its efforts to market a luxury plug-in hybrid vehicle.
