| The good, the bad, the autonomous car | This week, Antuan Goodwin and I had a conversation about the pros and cons of autonomous cars. The reality is not with us quite yet, but it is becoming more and more technologically feasible. Antuan makes points about the potential for catastrophic failure and how an autonomous car would tend to take the most boringly efficient routes, so that we would miss edifying sights and roadside attractions. I counter with the ideas that an autonomous car could work as a chauffeur, eliminating time spent looking for parking, and that it would always be there as your designated driver.
