Jaguar XJ purrs and pauses

The 2013 XJ that CNET editor Antuan Goodwin reviewed this week was not exactly what we've come to expect from the historic British carmaker. It had only six cylinders, yet drove all four wheels, which seemed an unusual mix for the company's flagship sedan. However, a supercharger gave it enough power to keep up. Not so enjoyable was its idle-stop feature, which gave the big cat frequent, shuddery starts and earned Goodwin nasty looks when the engine cranked up seemingly for no other reason than to frighten pedestrians. LG Cosmos 3 (Verizon Wireless)

Though the Cosmos 3 is free with contract, you're better off paying more for a comparable handset, like the Samsung Intensity III. Especially since the Cosmos' camera doesn't have a flash and can't record video, and its Web browser is too cumbersome to even bother navigating.
