CNET's favorite American cars In honor of the most American of holidays, we're taking a look back at some of the best American cars to grace the Car Tech garage. Ford steps up to the plate with a high-tech hybrid and a hot hatch. Under the Chrysler banner, there's a new Italian immigrant and one of the most iconic American nameplates. And GM does what GM does best: brings the muscle. Of course, the Big Three are there in full force, but our list also gets shaken up by a disruptive little brand that wants to change everything about how we think of cars: Tesla. Motorola prepares itself for Moto X and Droid Ultra

Motorola readies Moto X, Droid Ultra After months of speculation, Motorola finally unveiled a sign-up page for its highly anticipated Moto X handset. According to the Web site, the flagship device will be "coming soon," and it is the first smartphone to be designed, engineered, and assembled in the U.S. Meanwhile, a short press summary of a new Droid Ultra was temporarily displayed on Motorola's online site as well. Though little is known about the product, Motorola hints that it will have a Kevlar body and be "tough as steel."
